Book Club at Bearded Iris
Every first Tuesday at 7 PM

We're partnering with Bearded Iris  for an open book club on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. The vibe is chill. There are no tricky questions or pop quizzes. We believe that books are designed to stimulate conversations between friends.
Here are the books for the next few months:
April 7, 2026: Slayers of Old by Jim C. Hines is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
May 5, 2026: Storybook Ending by Moira Macdonald is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
June 2, 2026: The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Sotto Yambao is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
July 7, 2026: Red Clay by Charles B Fancher is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
August 4, 2026: Trust No One by James Rollins is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
If you didn't buy the book from us, don't worry. If you didn't read the book, don't worry. We'd love for you to come out, grab a Bearded Iris beer, and hang out.
Banned Book Club
Every Second Sunday at 1 PM
Join us at Corsair Distillery in Marathon Village for a bold and thought-provoking book club celebrating the power of banned books! Each second Sunday at 1 PM, we’ll dive into a different title that has faced censorship in schools and other institutions, exploring the stories, ideas, and controversies that make these books so important. We'll be discussing the following:
April 12, 2026: Native Son by Richard Wright is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
May 10, 2026: Pyongyang: A Journey in North Korea by Guy Delisle is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
June 14, 2026: Lawn Boy by Jonathan Evison is available in the store and at Bookshop.org.
If you’re a free speech advocate, a literature lover, or just curious about the books they don’t want you to read, this is your space to engage in open discussions and challenge the status quo.
Come for the conversation, stay for the freedom to read.
A library card with the dates and places Taylor Street Art and Books is having Saturday coffee meetings
Coffee, Books, and Quiet Company
Time: 8:00–9:45 AM
When: Sort of kinda weekly, primarily Saturdays
Where: Locations will be shared a month at a time (see below)
Not everything needs to be a formal book club. Sometimes the best conversations happen over coffee, without an agenda, a reading list, or the pressure to be “on.”
Most Saturdays, you’ll find us early at a local coffee shop for a low-stakes, come-and-go gathering centered on books, ideas, and community. Talk about what you’re reading. Talk about the world. Bring a sketchbook. Sit quietly if that’s what you need. This is simply a chance to share space with your neighbors.
There’s no required book and no expectation to stay the whole time. Grab a cup, sit for a minute, or hang out longer if the mood strikes. Whether a few people show up or it’s just one quiet morning with coffee, the door is open. Sometimes that’s more than enough.
April 4 — International Tea and Coffee
April 11 — 8th and Roast on Charlotte
April 18 — Kahawa
April 25 — Daily Grind

MidTN Bookstore Crawl
April 25, 2026
Some weekends are for errands. This one’s for book people.
The MidTN Bookstore Crawl is a choose-your-own-adventure across independent bookstores in Middle Tennessee, and Taylor Street Art and Books is participating. You’ll pick up a crawl passport, hit participating shops at your own pace, and stack up stamps (and books) along the way. All of the details are still being hashed out, but we'll post more information as we get it. You can also visit the MidTN Bookstore Crawl by clicking on the link here.
