If you've been in the shop, we have probably talked to you about the beautiful books we created by one of our favorite humans, Audy McPeak. Audy is a delight and is offering a class to help you get started binding books on February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You'll complete an eight-signature (and learn what signatures mean) decorative paper cover Coptic stitch book. Audy will show you how to cut paper, glue book board covers, and sew a completed 3.5 x 5.25 inch handmade book.
If you'd like to be part of the class, secure your tickets here.

We're partnering with Bearded Iris Brewery for an open book club on the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. The vibe is chill. There are no tricky questions or pop quizzes. We believe that books are designed to stimulate conversations between friends.
Here are the books for the next few months:
February 11, 2025: My Murder by Katie Williams.
March 4, 2025: James by Percival Everett.
If you didn't buy the book from us, don't worry. If you didn't read the book, don't worry. We'd love for you to come out, grab a Bearded Iris beer, and hang out.

Taylor Street Art and Books is excited to host a Silent Book Club at Bearded Iris Brewery on December 17, 2024 at 7PM. This unique gathering offers book lovers a chance to read together in a relaxed, social atmosphere without the pressure of assigned readings or discussions. Participants can bring their books, order a pint of craft beer, and enjoy quiet reading time alongside fellow literary enthusiasts. Afterward, there’s an optional time to mingle and share book recommendations. Whether you're an avid reader or just looking to unwind, this event is the perfect blend of solitude and community.

Dani Taylor, a local watercolorist, and co-owner of Taylor Street Art and Books, firmly believes that the only way to get better at something is by continuing even when it doesn't feel perfect. She's always wanted to have a space to offer people who have taken classes with her or are exploring watercolor without the pressure of a class.
Every first Sunday of the month from 12 PM to 2 PM, Dani will be in the shop helping anyone who wants to create.
Dani will also be at the Donelson Public Library the last Sunday of the month from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM for open watercolor time.
The time is very low-pressure and free. Bring your supplies or use the shop's gear.

On the third Saturday of every month, from 4-9 PM, 100 Taylor Street Art Collective hosts an art market. Over the years, the event has become a staple of Nashville's Germantown community. Art vendors fill the building's hallways to create a unique experience where you can discover new pieces in a relaxed environment. Taylor Street Art and Books are through the end of the art market, so come by and chat with us about what book you're currently reading.
